In September 2013, I decided to try my hand at running a business baking and decorating custom sugar cookies out of my teeny, tiny shoebox of a kitchen. I guess I didn't think I was busy enough working full-time at Google AND working weekends at Sibby's Cupcakery. What began as an experiment quickly grew to dozens and dozens of custom orders for family, friends, and even strangers who had only seen my work on Instagram. I piped, sprinkled, and drew (with edible ink markers!) my way to cookie success. I had to pull back the reigns a bit as the holidays grew closer, as making these cookies literally had me working into the wee hours of the morning, but I loved it. I still turn out custom orders for close friends (and still get requests to send cookies to those far away!)
