While working full-time at Google in October 2011, I responded to a job requisition for a part-time seasonal cupcake decorator at my favorite local cupcake shop – and I got the job! My time at Sibby's Cupcakery in San Mateo, CA involved working weekends in addition to my Monday through Friday job at Google, waking up at 5am, spending hours on my feet, getting frosting on myself from shoulders to shoes. It also gave me some of the best memories of my life. Over 4 years and hundreds of dozens of cupcakes later, I think it's safe to say my decorating skills have improved.
Note: All designs are hand-piped (no fondant here) on regular, mini or jumbo-sized cupcakes. Yes, these are cupcakes. Yes, that's a very, very small surface.
